Please return your report card
envelope.
Sign
the envelope and keep the report that is inside. It is important for you
to practice the sight words that your child did
not know. If you need help, please ask your
teacher! Thank you for reading your child's home
reader with him or her!
Theme: Winter,
Snow, and cold weather
Reading: This week we
will continue to enjoy stories about winter and cold weather. We continue to
practice re-telling the stories we read because our reading assessment scores
require that a student not only reads but can accurately retell/recall what he
has read.
Writing: The children continue to make books and develop their
writing as they learn to make letter/sound connections and develop their own
ideas for writing. This week we are focusing on using illustrations to help tell
the story. Specifically, we are focusing on illustrations in non-fiction
text.
