Week of February 22- February 26, 2016

Thanks so much for coming to the school to support your kindergartener square dance. The kids did a great job and loved having you for their audience!

Theme: Texas, cowboys and the rodeo

Reading:  Shared reading and interactive read-alouds about Texas. We are focusing on predicting events and comprehension.

Writing:  We are writing this week about Texas, cowboys and the rodeo.

Word Study: ELL Word Family  

Math: Review identifying coins by name and as a challenge, by amounts, Problem Solving, and Combinations of Numbers to 7.  

Science: Earthworms and how they help our soil!

Social Studies:  Our Great State:  Texas!

Homework: Read 20 minutes every night.

Optional Activities:

• Monday: Visit www.raz-kids.com
• Tuesday:  Make a list of 10 “ELL” words.
• Wednesday:   Write three sentences about the great state of TEXAS!!

• Thursday:  Grab a handful of coins, sort them, and label them by name.  Can you tell what each coin is worth?
• Friday:  Pack up your library books and practice your home reader!
