Week of February
6 - 10, 2017
February 13th – Picture day We will take our
class group photo and spring pictures. Order forms for group pictures
will come home in the blue folder.
February 14th – Valentine’s Day Please send
valentine cards on this day. We’ll pass them out in the morning before
the party. Thanks to all who have sent in cereal boxes. We have
more than enough to make our mailboxes. We would love to see you at our
Valentine Party! It will start at 1:00 pm in the classroom. We have 19 friends in our class.
February 20th – President’s Day No school

This week, our number sense work continues as we work on combinations of
6. We’ll practice counting on from the higher number to add, recognizing
different configurations of 6 (like dots on a dice or tally marks) and
exploring ways to make 6.

Presidents Abraham Lincoln and George Washington
Homework: Read 20
minutes every night.
Optional
Activities:
- Monday: Make a list of 10 -EN words.
- Tuesday: Write a letter to
someone in your family.
- Wednesday:
Make a list of things that come in groups of 5. How many can you
think of?
- Thursday: Read
a valentine book. What is the problem in the story? How did it
get solved?
- Friday: Pack
up your library books and practice your home reader! Return the home
reader bag on Monday!!
