Worms

We got to play with the worms today.  Most of our friends touched them.  A few did not want to.  We will be doing some experiments with wet/dry and light/dark this week with our worm friends.

Fun Run

Wow!  What a beautiful day for Boosterthon.  I didn't get any pictures during the run, but I am attaching an animoto video Mrs. Harrell made.
Pledge envelopes are coming home in their blue folders today and all pledges are due Wednesday, March 3rd.  Here are some pics of the kids enjoying their technology after the run.

Texas

We are learning about Texas for the next couple of weeks.  Yesterday we read a book with lots of facts about Texas.  We drew the shape of Texas and some symbols, and then we wrote 3 facts about TX.  Today we read The Legend of the Bluebonnet by Tomie DePaola and we made a bluebonnet and wrote about it.

Soil and Worms

We explored soil the other day in science.  The kids looked at it with magnifying glasses and we talked about the different things we saw in the soil.  Today we got to work with some people from Urban Gardens in our outdoor learning center.  We got to help plant a tomato plant, strawberries and peppers.  Our classroom worms came too.  Today we will be learning about worms and tomorrow we will get to explore and touch the worms.

Boosterthon

Our team name is Hanlen's Heroes.  We already met 3 incentive goals in our class.  Today we took our shoes off for the afternoon and had a little extra recess.  They also earned crazy hat day which we will do next week.
If you haven't registered your child please do so.  They will get a wristband.  It takes no more than 5 minutes and does not cost a thing.
